Each player has the following ratings :

 

Tendency

* = Player shoots from outside almost exclusively

** = Player tries to penetrate sometimes but prefers shooting from outside

*** = Player is comfortable shooting from outside or penetrating

**** = Player likes to penetrate most times but can shoot outside

***** = Player loves to penetrate, rarely shoots from outside

 

I (Intimidation)

The higher this number the better this player is at initmidating his opponents.  Intimidation can be used to prevent oppossing players from moving close to the net for a shot.  See the Intimidation rule for more details.

 

Skating

This rating is used when killing penalties.  Players with good skating ratings are valuable because the can "rag the puck" and kill valuable time off the penalty clock.  There are sometimes two number listed.  The first number represents this players ability to skate with the puck to kill time off the penalty.  The optional second number (shown in parenthesis) is a rating that allows certain players to go get breakaway scoring changes when killing penalties.  The greater this number the better chance you have of getting shorthanded goals while skating with the puck.  See the Icing rule for more information.

 

Faceoff

0 = Player is not a good faceoff man.

1 = Player is good at winning faceoffs.

2 = Player is outstanding at winning faceoffs.

 

Assist

The higher this rating, the more assists this player will accumulate.  In addition, sometimes this rating is shown with a letter:

(none or dash) - This player is not good at setting up teammates.

J - This player occasionally makes a great pass to setup a teammate.

K - This player will make a great pass to setup a teammate more often.

 

L -  This player is an excellent passer and will setup his teammates on a regular basis.  This is the top rating.

 

Offense

The offense rating is a general rating used to determine the player overall offensive ability at a glance.

1 = Not much offense

2 = A little bit more, but not strong offensively

3 = A good offensive player

4 = An outstanding offensive player

 

 

Defense

The offense rating is a general rating used to determine the player overall offensive ability at a glance.

1 = No defense, this guy will get burned often

2 = A little bit better, but not good defensively

3 = A good defensive player

4 = An excellent defensive player

5 = An outstanding defensive player.

 

Penalty

AA= Will take penalty minutes at a very high rate.

A = Takes alot of penalty minutes.

B = Takes an above average number of penalty minutes.

C = About average in penalty minutes.

D = Doesn't like to mix it up -- takes very few penalties

 

 

Breakaway/Penetration -

1 = This player is not good at breakaways or getting inside for shots.

2 = A little better, but not great

3 = Very good at getting breakaways or penetrating inside for shots.

4 = Outstanding at getting free for breakaways and penetrating inside for shots.
